River & Current Diver
Diving in currents can be quite relaxing and pleasant, even in swift currents, but it has its challenges. Explore shipwreck diving, collecting of antique bottles or just drifting with the flow and checking out the aquatic life is a blast. Make sure you prepare physically and mentally and have the proper gear, training and experience. Divers often say that current dives are some of their most memorable and exhilarating dives. Expand your diving knowledge by safely trying a current dive.
Learn valuable current diving knowledge and principles. Learn about river conditions, currents, rapids, eddies, cross current and trail lines. Academics will include planning and preparation for a river dive, special equipment needed, and assessment of the water.

Tuition Includes
One lecture, two river dives and NAUI River & Current Certification Card.
Prerequisites
NAUI Open Water Scuba Diver or equivalent.
Minimum Age
15 years of age and over
Class Size
2 - 4 students
Equipment Provided by Student
Personal mask, snorkel, fins, boots & gloves (must own) and Complete Scuba Diving System, including compass, cylinder with air or nitrox, weights, thermal protection – wetsuit or dry suit & hood (may own or rent).
Required specialty equipment to own:
Primary cutting tool, Buddy Line, Surface marker and Reel.
Additional Expenses
Rental fees, air/nitrox fills, charter fees (if applicable), parking fees, travel expenses, lodging and meals.
